Thanks for posting this. Interesting that twins figure consistently in creation myths worldwide. My first hearing of the Mohawk version. The only other Native American tale I can recall is the Hopi (?) one about “thank you, my vagina.” If you know this one, perhaps you would be willing to relate it sometime? Thanks for posting!
Oh Exulansic. This is truly the most moving and inspirational thing I have seen from you and probably anywhere. It gave me shivers and the circle dance had me in tears. So much of the imagery is replicated in other cultures but the way you have brought these messages down to earth and given them root in reality is so much more meaningful. Thank you so much. I don't ever want to encourage cultural misappropriation but I can just imagine a growing tribe of women gathering to do this beautiful dance and connecting their soul to the externality of the Feminine. You cannot erase time immemorial.

I’ve felt such rage this past week when I think that my daughters and their daughters and everyone’s daughters will not have the same rights that I had- the clock shouldn’t be going backwards but it is and I’m furious! Thanks for reminding me that we, women are resourceful and we will brainstorm and we will fight back and not sit defeated!
thank you for this. i remember reading genesis as a small girl, and the myth of eve made me feel gross and ashamed of myself.. which is probably the intent.

I attended a Jacob’s Pillow performance last week and they featured Eastern Woodland dances: https://www.jacobspillow.org/events/eastern-woodland-dances-2022/ They called all the women to the stage and we danced! I’m pretty sure it was the dance you mention here. I liked seeing all the women up on stage:)
