I have not seen anything in any of the Executive Orders that would give any agency of the federal government leverage to require public or private universities to close their gender studies departments, or to control what is taught in gender studies classes. There are federal institutions of higher learning , most of which are the military academies. I have no idea whether any of them have "gender studies" depts. They would fall under the mandates of the relevant Executive Orders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_academies
I’m being half-serious, just thinking of the damage such nonsense taken seriously can do to an impressionable young person. My husband’s niece went to Yale as a lesbian and left thinking she was a “man”. She has since had those terrible surgeries and now has a receding hairline along with facial hair.
Yale! It is the highly intelligent students at the elite universities who seem most susceptible to DEI and transgender ideology. They live too much in their heads, and are susceptible to the gender social contagion. I say this as someone who is very intellectually oriented, but also very material-reality oriented.
The receding hairline of your husband's niece is the least of the problems she will experience. If she continues to take testosterone, her internal reproductive organs will atrophy, and the excruciating pain of that will necessitate her having a hysterectomy, which will put her in menopause at her young age, with all the risks that women in menopause have of adverse cardiovascular events, certain cancers, osteoporosis and serious fractures such as spinal fractures. Actually, the younger a woman is when she goes into menopause, the higher her risk of various adverse health events. Her lifespan will be reduced from what it otherwise might have been. She may become incontinent with respect to urinary and/or bowel function due to the adverse effects of the surgeries on her pelvic floor. I could say a lot more, but this Genspect video is a better source of info that I am: https://youtu.be/gmp-0bZ1r2E?si=7c-8H890wKuX99a9
Do you not see the related EO as a really strong nudge to comply with the spirit of the law, and not the letter? He rewards initiative over compliance! That's one reason he pardoned all the 6ers! It was a clear message if you factor in all the context.
I am really not sure what your central point is. He pardoned the 6ers to reward them for their loyalty to him and to show others that they too can count on him to protect them from criminal law repercussions when they engage in actions he approves of.
A clear message of what? No, he pardoned them as a way to let them know that violence in the service of loyalty to him will not be punished. Among the people he pardoned are individuals who murdered in cold blood for no reason. At best, murder 2. He also pardoned them all bc, as he himself said, he didn't have the patience and focus to read through each case. The man can barely read and has little sustained attention. This is a lifelong neurodivergence combined with likely late-life cognitive decline. These evals are not really controversial.
He's not a complex enough thinker to distinguish 'spirit' vs. 'letter.' You are. He's not. He's not worth your admiration. As far as gender ideology he's a stopped clock. He's not an advocate of women's rights.
Yes, that is something that the relevant federal agencies could do, BUT they might not have the staff that would enable them to do that in a comprehensive way, as the best federal employees head for the exits, because they do not want to have to deal with the chaos that Trump's various actions are causing. Easy for Trump to proclaim "off with their heads" in his various executive orders and other directions to fed agencies, but the big reductions in fed employees that Musk et al are intent on are going to hobble agencies from carrying out Trump's mandates. Lots of babies are going to be thrown out with the bath water.
They may well have their own Project 2025 folks to enforce Title 9, but their hearts are not in women's rights or women's development. They're in compulsory pregnancy and forced marriage.
Howdy, pardner! I so agree with your comments and am dismayed at all the smart and passionate gender realists who trust this administration so much more than they would have trusted a Harris administration (which could have been fought against tooth and nail on the gender issue). I get the mistrust of both Trump and Harris, and I see why there's celebration of the gender EO, but otherwise, WTH? I'm afraid the friends of Project 2025 will be glad to throw the baby out, as you said. We are in for rough and scary times.
They've been following through on federal documents like passports. But they can't force the states to stop issuing false birth certificates. Not yet anyway.
Does anybody know (or can reasonably estimate) how many people will be affected by this business? Or how the numbers might possibly break down between the traveling public, and those who use their documents for identification?
It's as if a bunch of sovereign citizens had a decade of political ascendancy, lost their newly-minted right to invent fictional drivers' licenses, and whined about it.
That's an interesting take, and I have to laugh thinking of how the Church of Trans members would HATE to be compared with Sovereign Citizens!!! Hee hee hee.
It is INSANE that our government has to make this BASIC RULE that sex is assigned at birth to make these delusional people WAKE UP and ACCEPT that they are the gender they are born as.
It's simply important for many reasons to have documents identify true traits of the person. True date of birth is one. True citizenship. And true sex. Police depend on true facts on docs in order to describe correctly a crime suspect, just to begin with.
Hi, Ex! This is a good example of "What a tangled web we weave when first we practice (or get permission to practice!) to deceive" (Shakespeare?...nope, it's from Sir Walter Scott's Marmion). My driver's license had the wrong weight on it for years (come on, the older we get, the more deposits settle in our bodies and raise our weights...🙃) I eventually fixed it, to my own chagrin, despite managing to fool any official who might have spent a moment looking at the weight and comparing it to my actual physique. I'm draconian enough to think people (still mostly women?) who dye their hair should admit they're not natural blonds and be forced to remove that lie from their documents. Have you heard yet of any sex mimics having their passports confiscated? It does bother me a bit though, in the case of them being en route to a dying relative's bedside. What a world, eh? Thank you, Ex, from your longtime fan, Mildred!
Thinking it over, I suppose much of our identity documents are to confirm our appearance -- they want to have a record of what you look like, mainly, for all kinds of reasons. So, I wouldn't object to passports and drivers licenses etc having a category for Transwoman, Transman. That would be for those who do in fact appear very femme or masculine, because appearance is key here. But naturally it would not be for those who make no effort to look the sex role they think they are; call me old fashioned, but you can't have a beard and get called female! I suppose then some bureaucrat would have to make that decision, and laws would have to be written, so...maybe it's better overall to just stick with your sex at birth and leave it at that! What a strange place we've come to where this needs to be decided by government decree!
Also, this article and other sources claim that it is not safe to donate blood from a pregnant woman to a man, or one who has ever been pregnant becuase the man has a higher chance of dying from antigens in the woman's blood. Imagine how busy doctor's are in ERs and the need for accurate records in a rushed, stressed situation where a blood transfusion needs to be accurate for the life of the patient. https://www.statnews.com/2017/10/17/blood-transfusions-pregnant-women/
Ha! I hope gender studies departments are now dropped from universities receiving federal funds.

I don't know they they can do that but they can and should pull funding from *any* institution that won't enforce Title IX

I'm sure TRAs are secretly pleased about this as it gives them another excuse to claim victimhood. They thrive on playing the victim.
Im not from USA, pls tell me if federal administration can follow through this or it’s Trump’s wishful thinking and state by state?
They've been following through on federal documents like passports. But they can't force the states to stop issuing false birth certificates. Not yet anyway.
this will probably be hashed out in court.

Absolutely ridiculous it has come to this.
