These are cautionary tales, a signpost to the unaware coming through the rye, that a steep cliff lies ahead. This is not a rescue mission for the ones who already went over.
trans people tell us that calling an adult human male a man is hate speech, on par with genocidal nazi propaganda. there is no reaching them with logical argument. and any attempt by exulansic to bowdlerize her message, for their benefit, so they might hear her out, would stink in all our nostrils like the rotting flesh of gender-affirming aftermath.
on the contrary, exulansic’s words of truth are tonic to my soul. i am still following her after 4 years because i need to hear from at least one other person on earth that i’m not crazy. and i need it in clear, straightforward langauge that sticks with me and gives me courage to face the wider world. we have never met but i am full of gratitude that i get to hear her words. God forbid she should change her methods, in order to appeal to a population who is determined NOT to hear her.
i remember in one of the jazz episodes, exulansic said “i don’t know what would be best for him. i don’t know what he should do.” because that’s not her mission. she has no advice for him. she is never talking TO him, only ABOUT him.
she is not here for people like jazz. she is here for people like us, for our families, for our neighbors and coworkers, for whom there *is* still time to turn back and think again. in a world gone mad, there are so many who are scared to say anything offensive about trans people. meanwhile there are so few of her.
(Edit: I know the protagonist in The Catcher In The Rye had his own inaccurate ideological narrative ideas about the supposed innocence/purity of children and the phoniness of adults, but just uh, removing the rest of the context from the book itself, Holden’s vague aspiration to be a person he imagines as responsible for “catching” children in the field before they “start to go over the cliff” is more or less what you’re doing in actuality. https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/catcher/central-idea-essay/what-does-the-title-mean/ )
Exulansic, I am always impressed by your noble intentions. Your motivations are to do very great good, and the cost to you seems to be high. There. Someone had to say it.
I appreciate your content because it is raw. You strip things down to expose the bare bones and don't make or take excuses. And you are wildly hilarious!!
You are taking the right stance. It might sound tough to some, but it's important that you use your energy where it can be of most help.
Good, clear explanation.
Well said!
It all has to be about them, always. Even when they don't want what you're selling.
No matter what you do, someone is going to complain. You're doing the right thing, never fear.

Yes. You are exactly right, and I thank you for your eloquence.

Did she stutter?
Nope!
Heck yeah, Ex!
You're right. Right is right.
