My gay son is loathing of trans people and his partner of 10 years loves them. I mentioned children and gender confusion and they turned on me. Wow just wanted a conversation and I was silenced ( still licking my wounds)

so this is a woman who "not like other girls"'d herself into being a "gay man"?

it's still the issue with essentialism, ie taking the identity trans, and identities are largely fictions. i am guessing that this butch woman was attracted to men. did that not work out? i personally know a couple of butch-ish women who have been happily married to men for decades. both are over sixty. is this a generational thing where, if they were young now, they would be encouraged to transition?

I think you are right and I don't think she's hard to figure out. She didn't get the attention she wanted from straight men so she decided to "butch up" and try for the gays. Then OOPS she discovered despite her hard work masculinizing herself (??) the gays aren't interested either. So now she hates us and has come up with a convoluted reason why/how she does gay better. She's pretty miserable and contemptible for someone living her best life like Cinderfella at the ball.

WTF?! Huh? I would NOT want to be in the mind of any one of these individuals. Scary.

I’m ready to throw my hands up in the air and just give up. Seriously. What is wrong with these people? Do they need to feel special or unique, so they’re just making shit up?

I can barely track what this chick was saying, or trying to say. It made no sense. So desperate to be queer that she transed? So dysphoric that being "gay" is the ultimate affirmation?

Can vouch that tomboys can be butch and *straight* or bi or lesbian. Expression =/= sexuality.

No. Straight women can NOT be butch.

I'm so lost 😶 It's no wonder my son could never explain any of this to me. My daughter tried. I get the gender dysphoria but that's a natural part of childhood in this kind of society imo. I'd like to look at this as part of the natural dismantling of gender norms. Hopefully in the next couple generations humans will have outgrown this momentary madness.

whenever i watch shit like this i always think the same thing, this is what women gave up feminism for. all the work of the last century destroyed so that a woman can go pathetically try to date men who on a biological level are physically repulsed by her sexually. a “transgender gay person” is heterosexual and a “cisgender gay person” is homosexual and never the twain shall meet, but now rapists can be penned in cells with incarcerated women doing time for writing bad checks or not having a babysitter. Thanks for nothing

Hmmmmm...the delusion is strong with this one. If "living the dream" is being a woman pretending to be a man so she can get on Grindr and go to gay bars I suppose she's set the bar pretty low for herself. She seems like she's just a lot of fun!
