Totally, we all have had or know of someone who has had issues with the postal service at one time or another in life, it happens. Nobody is perfect but it is very suspicious that it is her passport and birth certificate all at once in the wake of this whole thing. And nobody is buying it anymore.

Reddit has been full of threads about passport issues for the trans-identified over the past few weeks. They are eye-opening to read.

People are comparing the issuing of a government document with factual information to the repression of Jews in 1930s Germany.

I've noticed increasingly paranoid claims being repeated, and each time they get dozens of upvotes. For example:

- that it's going to become illegal to get any trans surgery, so everyone should try to get them ASAP

- that Project 2025 specifically states that all trans people should be declared terrorists

- that trans people are going to be forcibly deported to somewhere like Guantanamo

- that anyone who is trans should basically become a prepper or start making plans to flee to Mexico or elsewhere

I think Helen Joyce in her recent newsletter noted that for people who are in the grip of a cult-like delusion, this is going to be a fragile time. They are in a bubble where alarmism and despair are taking hold. How long before this turns to nihilism? Some ugly things could start happening, as indeed we saw with the vet who allegedly jumped from the roof, or with the couple that got into a gun fight with a border guard in Vermont (Andy Ngo has reported on the latter for the Post Millennial for anyone who's interested). I'm worried these events are going to inspire copycat behaviour...

ETA: the latest incident inspiring paranoia is the torture and murder of a trans-identified woman named Sam Nordquist in NY. Police have clarified that she was known to her attackers, had even shared a house with one of them, and that some are themselves "LGBTQ+". But of course on Reddit I've already seen claims that this murder was a hate crime inspired by "Trump's violent and transphobic reign of terror" (verbatim phrase). Apparently"cis people" cannot be trusted in this climate as anyone of us could be a stealth assassin looking to target the sacred caste.

I agree that they could get crazy, but I'm very excited for them to start trying to emigrate to other countries. Most countries do not have DEI immigration checkboxes; you need to have a job they want/need, money in the bank, and a sponsor. Very excited for reality to dawn on them in this regard.

thanks, my partner was in tears after getting a call from her TIF daughter who told her about this incident, framing it as some strangers luring an innocent “trans man” to be tortured and killed because of “transphobia,” leading her to fear for her daughter’s life (the effects of weekly testosterone injections have somehow never factored into her concerns however …). I did tell her that in every story like this i’ve heard, it invariably comes out later that there’s more to the story, but activists just use these victims as props in the narrative they’re pushing, but I didn’t have any details at that time. Now I do, thanks to you!, time to research!

And like clockwork, as in every previous similar case, the story is always the same: Nordquist wasn’t targeted by “transphobes,” but fellow members of the “LGBTQ+ community”( heard in Joshua Slocum’s mocking nasal whine ), some of whom were known to have cohabited with their victim in a squalid flophouse. Of course news outlets obfuscate the identities of the suspects by reporting their names and ages , but pretending their sex is unknown; doubtless some, if not all, the perpetrators will be revealed to have been delusional cross-sex hormone addled fetishists. Or maybe, this time, JK Rowling and Kellie Jay Keene will finally be held accountable for their crimes, and I shall be forced to buy a hat, so I may then eat it.

Great to see another fellow Disaffected listener!

Have you seen the NY Post article with pics of those malcreants? They look like demonic meth heads and then some. There is no way that this story doesn't involve a dispute over drugs, money or both.

no, I have not, but thanks for the tip!

Invariably, nearly all these incidents of “transphobia” can be summarized thus: “always pay your dealer & give your pimp his money”

Samantha Nordquist had an online relationship with a woman named Precious, who is one of her killers, and so Samantha went to NY to meet Precious. My guess is the plan was to lure Samantha to NY to beat her up and scare her, but they got carried away.

The Vermont incident was a trans cult gang who originally murdered an elderly man when they wanted to camp on his property. They first beat him up, he called police, and he was set to testify against them, but they murdered him instead. Border Patrol located the vehicle in Vermont and upon a traffic stop, killed the Border Patrol Agent during a shoot out.

That was the same in the UK when transactivists tried to claim there were razor blades beneath GC stickers, a few years ago. The police investigated and said it wasn't true and the man who said he was hurt and showing off his supposed injury was in another country.

Yeah I remember that one. What's funny is that these are tropes. They can't even think of anything original.

The claim that someone has found a hidden razorblade in an otherwise innocent place is something of an urban legend that crops up again and again as a way to spread alarm.

That the media even report these things at face value is a joke.

Things do get destroyed and damaged in the mail. It could have been damaged by postal service and this person decided to post that passport service did the damage. Or they did it themselves because they want attention.

eye&beam's avatar

How would that kind of damage occur in a mail truck? The packaging would have been damaged as well, but if course they don’t show that.

The most obvious proof that this is all BS: the amount of time it takes to process a passport application! Unless you go -in person - to a US Passport office (and there are only around 25 cities that have one) and prove you need to travel within 3 days, it is going to take 6-12 weeks to process ANY passport application. I doubt if a dozen of these clowns have received new passports.

1. The "Bureau of Consular Affairs" issues passports for U.S. Citizens ABROAD.

2. A "Massachusetts passport agency" would have been just that – a "Massachusetts passport agency," like the Boston Passport Agency or another passport agency depending on the applicant's location.

3. The United States Governments doesn't use UPS. It uses USPS.

Morons.

If I was traveling to another country, because of the disparities of law between nations, I would 100% not ever want my passport to say male if I wasn't. The kind of delusion and/or privilege it would take to want M on your passport when traveling outside the country when about 90% of the world actively discriminates violently against women and more against masculine presenting women is insane.

Just where in the world did she think she was going to go and get away with that M? 10 countries in Europe and Canada? Boohoo, vacation ruined.
