Reminder that I have a BA in both Linguistics and Women’s Studies and an MA in Education (Speech Pathology) as well as a California license to practice Speech-Language Pathology, a national Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology, and have been treating speech and language disorders clinically full-time for the past 7 years in a variety of settings. I have treated infants to centigenarians and everyone in between, with all manner of causes, from accent, to brain injury, to dementia, to autism to other developmental, acquired, and senescence-based disorders. I looked but was not able to find educational or professional background on this youtuber, though he did cite a variety of sources. I will be very surprised if he has ever looked at language from the perspective of a person who struggled with language. He seems to have a top-down perspective.
