I'm just wondering why you would deduce from an Italian name that her parents are Catholic and practicing Catholics and that would keep them from giving their child "self reliant council." I don't think parents are to blame here.
The depressing reality is that so many of the loved ones of these people can blame the entire society for refusing to be bullied into submission…because they can’t see that it was they themselves who facilitated the death of their loved one by “being kind” And affirming their delusions. It would have been more kind to tell the truth. More kind to hold the line of reality for their loved one and get them real mental health help that perhaps could’ve saved them. These people may never be able to allow themselves to see that, because it is too painful. They will fight like this forever, thinking everyone else is the enemy and the problem, simply for refusing to go along.

I am Catholic. If her family were practising Catholics they wouldn't have affirmed her. The church is against transing people.
