There's a medical benefit to the child when the choice is a CI at birth versus nothing. The benefit is to language areas which get passive exposure through the implant as well as access to environmental sounds. That supports literacy and a range of other functions. So it's not exactly the same.
i haven't keep in touch with my Deaf School friends (White Plains, NY)
i know it's not possible for all deaf people to benefit from implants .. in my days; parents were hungry for a solution.
while the community braced for more isolation (the ones who it can't help) .. i find them wonderful. i miss their unique point of view .. altho, my guess is internet has diluted their specialness.
And destroys Deaf culture and language. But most people who have gotten it do not regret it, they are thankful to be able to tell if someone is sneaking up on them. The stigma is much less now than when I took my Deaf Studies course in 2005. I had previously thought very low of them. I was pleasantly surprised to read that most people were grateful for it.
right. i was "involved" with Deaf Community in the 80's. Parents naturally wanted the implants asap.
the adults who could get it were viewed as traitors by many at the Deaf School. (White Plains, NY) .. even tho they still used sign language to communicate .. as EX states in her response .. the earlier you get it .. the easier it is for brain to make use of it.
One of the better hater talking points is that my stance on cochlear implants means I am not familiar with Deaf culture. And it's true, I'm not terribly familiar with it. You shouldn't leave a baby disabled, in a way that will cause further disabilities to develop, in the name of growing a culture.
I personally think all of us Gender Critical Women may need to take a break for a period of time to recouperate, refresh, restrategize and rest, because the strong fight against the evil Agenda to erase women will need us to be strong, steadfast Warriors.
That was interesting, I have always wondered how the sound was from cochlear implants and I understand why not every person with hearing disability would want such an implant. Like with the trans & gc matters, it‘s not as simple as many like to see it. There are not just two opposing groups who have one different view from each other, it‘s way more complicated. And people like me, very critical of trans care and trans ideology are usually not haters or phobes but people who are genuinely concerned. Women and girls are totally ignored in the „trans rights“ discussion and also the possible harm to vulnerable people falling for an ideology that doesn‘t accept simple biological, physical & psychological facts which is a red flag in itself. I‘m not going to list every single other problematic aspect but there are numerous and any person of the medical field looking into medical files of transitioned people would find alarming numbers of complications on top of the problematic social situation we‘re in with language, education program and law changes for „inclusion, equality, diversity“. And although it‘s a complex situation we‘re in, it‘s not that complicated to see that it can‘t be right to include artificially created beings and names while one big group of original humans, naturally big group, is ignored and excluded when it comes to their voices, their rights.
I'm fascinated by how the brain works, even though I'm not a medic. I've read books by neuroscientist V S Ramachandran, who explains complex issues at a level anyone can understand.
He's the guy who pioneered the mirror box to retrain the brain to move immobile limbs, and to 'amputate' phantom limbs that are causing pain. He even explained how one brain hemisphere can be atheist and the other theist.
To get to the point. He talked about a guy who experienced orgasms in his amputated foot as well as his genitals. This relates to your point about how the brain learns. He explained that this was because the brain area that deals with genitals is beside the area that deals with feet. So when the guy's foot sensations ceased, his genital brain sensors spread into that area, but because the brain had been trained to use that area for his foot, the brain got confused and sent the orgasm sensations to the foot too.
His missing foot didn't have touch receptors for sex, but his brain experienced orgasm in his foot. So, technically, missing foot skin was able to 'experience' sex because the brain controls it, not the skin.
This doesn't mean I disagree with your video, I don't believe an arm flesh tube can fool the brain into believing it is genital tissue. The brain can't decide to experience sensations that just aren't there. But in the total absence of sensation, eg amputation, the brain can generate false sensations.
The brain is an incredible organ, and we haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do. I think you would enjoy his books.
The trans experts are saying “The science is settled. “ Starting with DNA and following up with cosmetic surgery, what Science are they talking about?
They are fooling themselves and trying to fool everyone else.
Thanks for the videos, it’s very interesting and helps me understand more about the wonderful bodies and senses we have been given by Almighty God.
But I wonder why anyone would want to mess that up by surgery and chemicals. It makes me sad that there are “experts” doing this to vulnerable adults and especially children.
There's a book called This is Your Brain on Music, by Oliver Sacks. The reason singing calms a class of Kindergarteners is the fact that each pitch stimulates a different part of the brain. Therefore, children are stimulated and calmed at the same time by singing. If fingerplay (eg Eensy Weensy Spider, but children can handle much more complexity) is added, the child's body settles and focuses. I could write a book on this. Unfortunately, I'm deep into documenting trans widows' experiences. Society's loss. There are so, so many losses to society as we push back against a dangerous and damaging cult. Thanks, Ex!
Good analogy! I don’t understand why anyone would want to trade a good working sex organ for one that doesn’t work right. Like trading a working cochlea for a CI. Not the same sadly for those who have tried to with bottom surgery. Not to mention the horrible complications! Very educational video. Thanks Ex!
This was really interesting! I always wondered what CI's were like for the person. This totally explains why people with CIs who would otherwise be deaf tend to have a flat, almost robotic way of talking. That's what it sounds like to them! I was a massage therapist for many years, it's well known that there are different levels of sensitivity all over the body. The arm or leg skin tubes never made sense to me, as they're perhaps the least sensitive areas of the body, and even then, there are sensory differences between different areas of the arm and leg (your inner arm is more sensitive than your outer arm, same with thighs, but neither are anywhere near as sensitive as lips or genitals). I mean, shoot, you even see that with skin grafts on burn victims. Why someone would so desperately want a poor, poor imitation of genitals vs real genitals just shows, to me, hoe very disconnected people are with their bodies, and how disconnected and reductionist these surgeons are.
My sister got cochlear implants after becoming Deaf as a teen. She regrets that decision, it’s exhausting and painful. I wonder about all the Deaf children given CI’s as infants, hopefully it isn’t as horrible for them.
It may be equally annoying but it gives their brain auditory language exposure which supports things like speech development as well as reading and writing.
“A lot of times there is cutting. But we like to take the nondominant arm” about 1 hr 25 min in (i.e. the reasons for their selection are entirely appearance based, as far as I can tell)

alrighty .. i left a Lizard emoji
oh no .. now i can understand why there's an anti "fake ear" implant in Deaf Community
it's genital mutilation. transhumanism.
hatred & destruction & punishment
of Nature.

"arm skin is not a penis"
you're trying to reason w/the illogical.
it's a church .. of Darkness
flesh is god
Thanks for the clear explanation.
In the same way that we may evolve the cochlear implant, is there a chance we could evolve the skin tube?(Not that I advocate doing the skin tube).
So do you have synesthesia? I had that once as a child with a fever.
Hello Exulansic
Welcome back to Substack.🌺🌷🌺
I hope you are feeling better.
I personally think all of us Gender Critical Women may need to take a break for a period of time to recouperate, refresh, restrategize and rest, because the strong fight against the evil Agenda to erase women will need us to be strong, steadfast Warriors.
We are going to be triumphant 🥊
Once again Welcome Back 🍷🍷

The insanity of thinking that humans are just interchangeable parts. We’re not Legos.
I sewed a third leg onto my hip and now my brain doesn't know what to do with it

How long ago did your sister get her CIs? Ive read that they have gotten much better in quality now. Im so sorry to hear that she regrets it.
