Puberty Blockers, Pituitary Tumors, and Pituitary Apoplexy (Death of the Pituitary)
Alec, Defender of Puberty Blockers for Emotional Distress, Denied the Causative Link, But it's All There in Black and White.
Puberty blockers can cause strokes and permanent brain damage after the first injection or after several injections or after treatment has been concluded, due to direct action on the pituitary gland, especially if tumors are present. GNRH-agonists can also cause growth of GNRH-receptor positive pituitary tumors. Good luck, kids! Gender medicine doctors are keeping them on this drug for years.
This is the mechanism by which pituitary damage from GNRH receptor agonists like lupron can cause intracranial hypertension and loss of vision among other long term problems that follow strokes. Alec was completely in the dark as to this phenomenon, even though pituitary apoplexy was first described in modern medicine in 1898. This was the substance of the FDA’s warning, which Alec, apparently because he is some kind of trust-deficient conspiracy theorist, rejected. Providers are not to my knowledge routinely screening gender dysphoric patients before or during treatment for pituitary tumors with medical imaging.
Such imaging may both prevent apoplexy as well as identify the true neuropsychiatric hormonal source of the dysphoric mood. Based on my conversations with detransitioners, even when hormonal imbalance is identified, pituitary tumor is not considered. Full steam ahead. It would appear that like the carcinogenicity of estrogen and testosterone, this is yet another known effect of gender affirming hormones - and GNRH-Analogues are hormones, as “hormone” is defined functionally - that's just not mentioned to patients and not known to or acknowledged by these defenders of gender affirming care.
I was not able to find evidence that GNRH-A can initiate a tumor, however, just sources stating it may progress one that develops through other mechanisms. At this time, there are no recognized environmental causes of pituitary tumors according to the American Cancer Society and other sources. However, several sources do suggest that hormonal imbalance - such as that being induced by these doctors, perhaps? - may initiate pituitary tumors, in addition to progressing ones that already exist.

I can't get this idea out of my head so I'm giving it away as a gift. a spoof on Victoria's Secret called Dysphoria's Secret.
I have listened to several videos in the Alec series. He repeatedly claims to be "outcomes-based". Setting aside placebo-controlled trials for a moment, is he able to cite outcomes from any controlled studies of puberty blockers for kids versus mental health interventions alone or versus "watchful waiting"? Or even any long-term uncontrolled studies of kids who had puberty lockers for gender dysphoria? it's one thing asking the kids at age 20 how they feel (and before many potential physical adverse events are manifest), but how are their mental and physical health outcomes at age 30, 40, 50? If one is concerned about "outcomes", they should be more concerned about long-term outcomes than short-term outcomes.
