The fear in Mr. Noah's eyes... he seems petrified that at any moment Veronica might decide to beat him up and steal his lunch money. For good reason - dude's built like a fridge. And a bully!

Not out of the realm of possibility - there are plenty of examples of trans women beating people up for not treating them as they want to be treated.

Isn’t that like “toxic masculinity”???!

The sheer psychopathy and entitlement that is manifest in this man is chilling. His ability to convince people that his 'rights' trump all else and Trevor's inevitable groveling and willingness to give a platform to such an insane ideology is stomach-turning. I had to stop watching because I know what they're both going to do - frame 'terfs' as disgusting, evil transphobes who want to destroy all trans people and trans people as this poor, fragile, marginalized, vulnerable group who need all the protection and deference they can get. I never imagined I would feel so much hatred for any other human being or any group of people in general because I'm always the one to give someone the benefit of the doubt. However, knowing the predatory, fetishistic, socio-psychopathic behaviour of these men, hatred is the ONLY legitimate emotion to feel. It's not fear, it's revulsion and disgust. I sure as hell expected better of Trevor Noah. Another one bites the dust in the battle between women's rights and men's demands.

I posted my comment before I saw this, but I too couldn't watch to the end. I actually felt my blood and bile rising and I swear that if I'd been in the audience when that show was taped, I'd have caused a riot.

The comments on the youtube clip are great and plenty of people calling Noah out for that.

I honestly don’t know what to do with all this rage. The ripple effect down the levels of athletics so women who would have qualified don’t, so records are erased, so young women don’t get scholarships they earned. The entitlement is staggering. My shrieking harpy rage and my lifelong complications from female athlete triad cannot take much more of this.

Two men discussing women's rights, and deciding what a women is. So rare! But seriously, don't diss the bacon.

The most horrifying part for me was the applause every time Veroni-bro gaslit Trevor’s tippy-toe “argument.”

Accordingly V had zero flexibility on any point, which is cocky, unkind and disrespectful.

Also, a 375 pound squat is enormous even for a guy who trains regularly. I train in and teach powerlifting, have competed and am in awe of any female who squats 200+. The few men I’ve trained squat heavier from the start with zero practice. The argument that testosterone doesn’t affect squat strength just proves that male puberty gives an unfair advantage—bone density, ligament and tendon strength, muscle size, lung and heart capacity and hello grip strength! FFS, it’s beyond ridiculous. Exulansic you said it all.

Finally, V, if your dysphoria is so debilitating that the only way for you to live a life free from suffering is to transition, wouldn’t it be a no-brainer to sacrifice competitive sports for your emotional well-being? When I took lexapro for crushing suicidal depression and anxiety my libido went pfft. And guess what? My not wanting to die was worth the absence of a healthy sex life. It’s beyond immature to think you deserve every goddamned thing you want. Again, Exulansic nails the diagnosis—narcissism.

Veroni-bro is a walking talking temper tantrum. And he’s ruining it for everyone—gays, lesbians, transsexuals, women and children. Way to go bruh. Fucking dick.

There was a case in Canada that brought this exact question to mind, though in the other direction. Apparently there's a women's hockey-like game called ringette, where the only professional leagues are for women, though there are men's and coed recreational leagues available. A pro ringette player transitioned and then sued to be able to remain in their pro team, because she wouldn't have the opportunity to play professionally as a man. And that was my reaction: make your choice!! You knew the situation before you transitioned! You may have to sacrifice something.

Also, if you're a guy now, why aren't you trying to play in pro hockey instead? Probably better money there, too. Obviously, we know why...

This man's level of self-absorbed entitlement is just astounding. Many lifelong Democrats are turning away from the party over the "Trans" issue. My stomach turned when the first Black woman to be nominated to the Supreme Court declined to say what a woman is - because she's not a biologist. As Kellie Jean put it afterwards, "I'm not a vet but I know what a dog is." I'll seriously consider voting for Liz Cheney if she runs. And hope she nominates Christopher Rufo for Secretary of Education.

PS As always, I try to "like" my fellow commenters but Substack won't let me. And I love bacon!

I know how you feel re: the voting. I live in the UK and have never voted Conservative. However, the Labour Party is a complete non-starter when it comes to trans issues, with hardly any of the parliamentary party being able to say unequivocally what a woman is. So if I vote next time round, it will be for the Conservatives. At least both candidates for prime ministership know that a woman is an adult human female.

Couldn't watch this through to the end because it made me feel violent towards that mealy-mouthed dick in a frock. And that's not good. Exulansic, why don't you, please, challenge 'Veronica' to a discussion? You were able to answer every single one of her chop-logic statements, and you made Mr Noah look like an absolute amateur. Challenge her and let's put paid to her hubris once and for all.

I didn't manage to get through the first video you did responding to this, but managed to watch this one, but I agree, the whole exchange is infuriating and stomach-churning.

Something came to mind about the whole discussion over "advantage": I still remember the first time I saw the photo where McKinnon won and my first thought was - who is this lumpy man with no discernible muscle tone who won against those obviously extremely fit and athletic women? Want to talk about advantages? I don't think anyone ever talks about level of training - he can clearly phone it in and still win (also thinking of the swimmer Thomas who won a race without even kicking his legs while the women were using their whole bodies).

This isn't meant to be fat-phobic, different sports attract and/or build different physiques. To Sophie's point that he's "built like a fridge" - google "competitive mountain bikers" and see if any of them are shaped like him.

(OK, here's my catty fat-phobic comment that came to mind when I first saw the clip because I can't help myself, even though I know that attacks on people's looks aren't cool: "athlete? it looks like the only exercise he does is running to the fridge for snacks!")

I do think a significant amount of it is muscle. See him bragging about squatting almost 400lbs while also claiming males have no natural advantage.

Ah I guess I missed that - aren't there are some sports where bulking up is counter-productive to good performance? I don't know if cycling is one of them though it would make sense to me that it would be (sure you need strong quads, but I imagine there's an endurance vs. power equation at play?).

At any rate, this is the photo I was referring to, very early in transition (i.e. they had seemingly only transitioned pronouns): https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2018/10/20/18/5220614-6298053-image-a-10_1540055802502.jpg

Yes, cycling is one of them. Competitive cyclers, especially the winners, are exclusively lean.

It's not fat phobic to point out fat people are worse at most sports as a consequence of being fat. Fat is not advantageous for quick movement or during endurance, it's not even advantageous for strength. Arguably if you look at power lifters with records, it just happens to come along with a lot of the people who do it. Strongman/woman competitions have ridiculously strong and obviously muscular people who aren't fat. They are 100% heavier than average than a matched person with their height/frame but they're also denser and stronger, not just fatter. VI is fat and wins in cycling, a sport that causes people to look like human greyhounds.

I really think people need to stop apologizing for this denial of reality and lying to fat people. Being fat isn't healthy, it was probably only meant to be seasonal in nature and never to extremes we get to now. As a small example of why it's a problem in nature, if your limbs rub against each other during natural movement it can break the skin barrier. Cellulitis and sepsis can result. Telling anyone it's no big deal to be fat is harmful, spreading the idea that it can actually be healthy is probably even more so. Young fat people are being held up as body positivity examples but if you look at someone of similar sizes moving into their 40s, 50s and 60s they're having major problems with basic mobility even though our species regularly lives to 70-80, even in hunter gatherer cultures that don't have the benefits of modern medicine. Imagine cutting off basic motion at half your lifespan just because you were fine in your 20s? Giving someone human dignity and rights regardless of their size is not the same as saying nothing is wrong. I can respect an alcoholic's dignity but I'm not going to tell them drinking is good for them.

The first video wasn't even a response, it was just the interview, and it also took me several attempts to get through it enough to respond to it in a video. He just makes me so mad. Everything about how he conceives of and navigates the world. And he knows he's awful. That's why he had to change his name again to snake molt the negative associations people rightly form when they become aware of his existence.

That's how little of it I managed to watch of the first one, I didn't realize you hadn't responded within. And "snake molt" is an apt analogy!!
