In the UK, ECT is only used for severe, longstanding depression that hasn’t responded to medications.

I'm pretty sure that's what it's used for in the US, as well.

I'm pretty sure people could PROBABLY ask for ECT as well.. especially if they're trans...

When I was a young woman, I worked in a psychiatric hospital awhile, New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. It was said at that time (1971) that ECT was most effective on those (older) women who were diagnosed with 'involutional melancholia'. I don't even know if that is a current diagnostic category, but I think it meant depression due to aging. I only had to watch it being given to people a handful of times before I refused to accompany people to receive this treatment. It was so violent! Like torture! And the subsequent behavior of the patient was like that of a lobotomy patient. They excused me from having to perform this aspect of my job, thank God.

they are using ECT instead of re-normalizing her hormones, while offering psychotherapy and considering medication.

What they did was medical malpractice and is a crime. ECT does not help in her case and should not have been used. Her daughter should maybe be adopted by another family member because she is nit a fit person to gave access to a baby

And with this ding-a-ling, I always ask, who is funding these surgeries, medications, “therapists”, etc.? What a SCAM!

Decades ago, she would have been in the local New York State Hospital, perhaps eventually in a home-care placement. Her child needs to be removed from the home!

I suspect her parent’s insurance has paid for things so far…but she will “age out” of that coverage (if she hasn’t already). But we all know that, at the end of the day, it’s the policy-holders and/or taxpayers who are footing the bill.

I would like to see that change. No surety of payment, then no services from endocrinologists, surgeons, pharmacists, psychologists, psychiatrists etc. When I had my nose fixed, I paid for it myself.

doctors look at women like her and see nothing but dollar signs. i’m not surprised she cannot be there for her daughter.. she cannot be there for herself.

Well her wire wrapping skills are way better than whatever the stuff she made before was. She could have a career in that one if she decides to accept adulthood.

I thought so too, some of these are actually fairly decent for once! I guess it's good that she's at least trying to get some minor income, but I still don't see it ever paying for all these surgeries and meds.

Yeah.. if she'd stop destroying herself she'd have money, time, and mental space to turn that into at least a decent side hustle. There is actual talent in that wire wrapping.

Exactly! So sad she can't realize she has talent and could have a good life...but she's destroyed her body with the trans stuff now. Such a waste of potential.

The choice of procedure serves an additional manipulative purpose. When the one they choose has complications, it was their fault because they chose it and the other one might have worked. This protects the industry and practitioners.

Oh my God, you're right. Cynical, and right. The manipulations these people are subjected to are malevolent, self-serving, and heavily motivated by greed. What WON'T they do for the rewards they get?!

When you get into the mindset of manipulation and get good at it, it's hard to not see the mechanisms. I'm sober but when I was drinking I had to manipulate every day to stay out of trouble. There's a rhythm to manipulation rather than a plan. You don't know what you will need so you set things up everywhere like this and improvise as necessary.

This was a thought-provoking comment, Mathew. It's almost like poetry, in that I can't understand your entire meaning, and it leaves me with more questions. Like I said, thought-provoking. You seem to have a lot of insight, honesty, and the strength to rise up out of a bad situation. My respect to you for such an achievement! We humans are almost entirely dependent on our fellow humans; none of us makes it all on our own. The forward motion of a life is predicated on the cooperative input of every life (I include animals in this, some of which we even eat!). I wouldn't even be sitting on this chair if it hadn't been designed and implemented by the work of others. All of our feet stand on the shoulders of others. What matters a lot is intention. The Jennings' intention was egregious, and resulted in great harm to a dependent, vulnerable child, and will have everlasting consequences. I can't believe, Mathew, that your manipulations were carried out for any reason but your perceived survival need. You have such a good understanding that you could use that to understand others, and I'll bet you already do.

Wow, thank you! I am flattered by your reply. You hit the nail on the head by describing what I was doing in my illness as tied into a survival instinct. That's one of the pernicious parts of addiction. You mind gets toxicly wired so the same things that would keep you alive in dire circumstances end up being used to support your addiction. It's a nightmare to wake up from because the nightmare happened and you were the cause of it. Thankfully, people have been very forgiving of me, after a good amount of time sober. The memories are a tough cross to bear, unfortunately.

My god, this is so insane. I really worry about that poor child, she should not be in the care of Ellieot. Ellieot can't even care for herself, she's almost committed suicide, this is not a good situation for a child!!

Equally insane is that this poor young woman almost kills herself, but they won't stop the experimental trans surgeries and meds, because: without this trans intervention, she MIGHT KILL HERSELF. !!!???? 🫣🤯

God, this is so sad. She is clearly a creative and talented person, the jewellery is really rather beautifully made. This is so sad for her, sad for her small child. I remember a quote from a mental health professional who said gender ideology and medicine is so destructive because it collaborates with madness, it can never be therapeutic because therapy is about accepting truth. One sees it so clearly with cases like this. She will follow the rainbow to the end and discover the pot of gold was an illusion. And then what? This shouldn't be allowed.

BONUS! Got to see and hear Rupert, who looks very like my cat (government name Cakeandmonkey, but she call herself Monkey) except Rupert has more dark striped areas. Big shout out to Rupert, and thanks for the vocalizations (is a purr considered a vocalization?). The purr is comforting. I had wondered what would become of the baby, Salem. Perhaps she is no longer in the home. And no, this young woman distinctly looks bad. She no longer has the blithe air of high spirits she displayed in earlier post, and looks angry as well. What a world this is. Brace us up Rupert. Good job, boy.

As I said on X, she is by far the saddest girl playing pretend I have ever seen so far. I follow a few of them and predominantly, they are all full of themselves, but they don't mask their pain too well. I have never seen her happy, even when she gives a smile, it looks like a struggle. With her BPD, sexual trauma and depression, a real doctor would have told her no to the wrong sex hormones and the surgeries, but as we all know, trans money speaks the loudest. Honestly, just like you, I don't think she will be around much longer. She has consistently gotten worse. What therapist, doesn't see this or doesn't care either. Her husband is either at his wits end with her as I know in the past he lost a job, because he has had to take care of her with her complications or does he just turns a blind eye to it as he has his own skeletons in his closet. It was weird when she got a job, she was happy to get medical insurance. Why wasn't she on her husband insurance plan? The person I am the most sad for is, her daughter. Even if Elleot is around for her teens and twenties, what life will she endure. Watching mommy, attempt suicide time after time or even verbally say, she going to do it, but doesn't. What life will be like for this child. Seriously, the husband should convince her to get into an inpatient psych center for at minimum 6 months to get her off the testosterone and the psych meds and get to the root of her mental illness, but with medical insurance carriers today, they wouldn't cover that long period of time, which is sad, because she desperately needs to be away from her child, husband, social media and mentally detox.
