I wonder if this is being watched in Canada with its health system?

At this point, Medicaid covers a lot of "gender affirming treatments." We need to turn this tide because they are already overburdening the system and it is already being used as proof that "Obamacare" doesn't work. It is also being used as a reason to make cuts to Medicare.

We can afford Medicare for All, we can afford a 100% uptake in Medicaid but we can't afford to be providing elaborate plastic surgeries and remediation for these surgeries on demand.

There's a reason Republicans haven't cracked down on this stuff. There's a reason why DeSantis has seized on this issue to gain voting share in a state with a high population of seniors. Everyone in politics is using this issue to further an agenda. On the right, they want it to create the havoc it's creating, on the left, they want to bring "young" and "progressive" voters to the ballot box.

If one is a medical professional and is spouting totally baseless, verifiably false medical information.

Then that individual should be reprimanded, warned, asked to retake some professional qualifications then stuck off if they fail.

It is very concerning that she's publicly teaching her religious beliefs that very specifically contradict easily verifiable medical science unambiguously as though she learned this in medical school and it's what all medical doctors believe.

That's true of the whole ideology. ANYone teaching the ideology teaches it as if it's accepted, verifiable fact. I'm old and crusty and have a good BS meter, but most kids accept that adults tell the truth, especially professional adults.

The amount of baseless medical information "medical professionals" spout is staggering. Iodine is poison (that's why the body is filled with iodine receptors, in particular the thyroid and the reproductive organs). "I have no idea what's wrong with you" when someone is blacking out regularly (not only my partner but two other people I have spoken with experienced this). "I'm terribly fatigued": "You look fine to me." Not only do "medical professionals" have little curiosity and know zilch about nutrition, I began to wonder how many of them know basic physiology!

Their need to lie and push easily debunked tropes means they know they have not a leg to stand on. Their stragedy is to simply keep repeating falsehoods in hope the lies will stick better than the truth. They believe if you repeat a lie often enough the uninformed and lazy will believe it is the truth.

If she keeps preaching her religion, her followers will in a generation or two completely be rendered sterile and cease to exist. How in the world can they override evolution.

Just as a point of obscure information, I ran across these 2 terms in a book (IMPERIAL SPLENDOR : The Art of the Book in the Holy Roman Empire, 800 - 1500) : Trans-alpine and Cis-Alpine, meaning north and south of the Alps.

That sounds pretty binary ...

And you know what else, upon reflection you can take this to mean "trans" is above, as in better, and "cis" is below, as in inferior. So---trans "women" think they're better than real ones?

I’m sure you’ve heard them talk about how they have “designer bags” as opposed to our “brown paper ones”!!! Fuck them!

I haven't heard that. Do they mean purses or, um, something else. And by the way, "purse" comes to us by way of a term for mares' female parts. But yes, f--k 'em.

Why do I so dislike watching madhatterjackalope?

She's not like scooby_d00bs, who was absolutely insufferable and has done absolutely nothing with her life, but wants us to be impressed with her.

But nonetheless it's really unpleasant to watch madhatterjackalope. Why?

Blaming others for your suicidal ideation is a classic manipulative move made by abusers. Also, there are no statistics backing up their suicide claims.

Anyone who tells you it's your fault they feel suicidal is trying to make you their bitch/victim. Do not fall for it. According to my therapist, suicidal people should be considered violent. If they are capable of directing violence toward themselves, they are fully capable of directing it toward others. I actually experienced this when a woman who had fixated on my husband attempted suicide, tried to kill me, and eventually did kill herself. Her life experience and her pattern of bullying people around her with repeated suicide threats and with actual violence became apparent only when those who knew her were free to compare their experiences with her in the relative safety of the funeral home. Both my husband and I sought therapy to cope with this experience.

Now, years later, I would not say I am completely indifferent to her suffering but rather my compassion has migrated to the actual cause of her suffering; her refusal to get help for an obvious mental illness despite many people in her life attempting to make a bridge to that help.

As for the actual violence she inflicted on herself? I think she was a very stupid person to choose that over therapy. There's not much emotion attached to that feeling.

I think it's really important that we start addressing these claims of bullying leading to suicide. They're bullshit and they need to be called out as such. In Canada they have MAID, government assisted suicide. In my opinion, it is not my place to get between someone and their choice to end their life. There is a government agency for that.

In the US, let them seek out their pastor, in whatever form that takes. I'm done allowing this feelings loophole to end conversations. If someone is going to sit there and tell me my actions are going to cause them to commit suicide, the way I see it they have two choices 1.) get away from me or 2.) do it.

Whichever one they choose is equally fine with me. I'm done. I wouldn't let a child manipulate me like this. It's ridiculous and embarrassing that we, as grown women, are falling for this bullshittery.
