What a set up! Jon, on his high liberal and MALE horse making faces and vague condescending statements to the Southern ‘church lady’ with blonde hair and ‘work suit’ on! I wonder if he would give his child over to Dr. Gallagher? He does know better but his big house and bigger lifestyle won’t allow it! SHAME ON HIM- shame on them all! As for meds for ADHD- my gay son was prescribed aterall when he was in 1st grade. He came home after day 1 and said he wanted to chop his head off- the pills went down the toilet that afternoon.

I'm very glad my parents let me find out they're bad for me as an adult with a developed brain instead of trying to force my attention span to be different during my childhood.

Exulansic, your parents were smatter than me. I listened to the shrinks but thankfully I listened to my son and threw that shit away! He was too young and his not yet fully developed brain said NO! And all of this ties in to the insanity being perpetrated on young children today. When my oldest daughter cut all her hair off , I ran to the shrink again who diagnosed her with - are you ready? Penis Envy like the good Freudian he was! When in reality, she just hated the bows I kept putting in her long hair. Problem solved- no hair = no bows!😂❤️

They prescribed my son anti psychotics at 2 years old. The common side effect was growing breasts. But they said it was no big deal if it happens; you just give the child a mastectomy later on. It’s mind blowing how they don’t seem to think that a young boy walking around with full breasts would be a big deal. Or getting those breasts removed would be a big deal. We declined to give our son the medication. Sometimes I wonder if most doctors are really psychopaths. They seem to have no empathy for their patients.

Jesus. You have to remember that there is often little overlap between the category disabled/chronically ill and medical doctors. Like, there are pragmatic, spoon-based reasons I am a speech pathologist and not an MD. You're often dealing with a very privileged person with a very able body, it is deliberately difficult to get through school. They are dealing with theoretical concepts (fantasy). Your son will have to live with the pain and the scars and the emotional trauma. And yes, some of these people are mentally deranged, sadistic, and got into the position they did specifically to hurt you, now. It's a sick, sad world. Google Dr. Death for an example.

I share your anger and frustration over this. One thing I have noticed on this issue is that people I liked in the media years ago are supporting it and exposing themselves as fools. This seems to me like an attempt to make a snarky leftist response to Matt Walsh’s film, but simply exposes Stewart’s corruption and cynicism. What part of that interview needed audience laughter? Right now though it is clearly important PR to keep those people wearing the ‘save trans kids’ t-shirts convinced it is all ok, puberty blockers are reversible, there is a massive team of professionals treating each kid. Yes, just like those ads reassuring smokers it’s cool to smoke. Stewart used to question the medical profession and mock the bloated money-chasing medical orgs. How much money did it take to get him to change his mind?

So disappointing. I thought he would be a little more skeptical of the gender stuff after he publicly said the COVID lab leak hypothesis is probably right. I didn’t know what I thought about it at that time, but I respected that he clearly didn’t care what Colbert or anyone thought and wasn’t afraid to go against popular opinion.

'Slightly more permanent' ....permanent seems quite a binary concept. Either something is permanent or it's not.

Have you asked whether permanence identifies as nonbinary? HMMMM???

I really didn’t want to watch the interview or whatever that was, but at least having your commentary made it a shred less demoralizing. Like many politically homeless, I used to idolize Stewart, but this was pathetic, from the ignorant, snarky attacks and disingenuous nonsense questions, to the embarrassing laugh track. As awful as Stewart was, I don’t know why she was chosen to be in the hot seat, and there’s simply no excuse for why she was so horrifically ill-prepared. Regardless of what a complete disgrace he was, this did real damage to those of us working for evidence-based care for young people presenting with self-diagnosed gender dysphoria and children who are put on the medicalization track because they don’t align with gender stereotypes. Liberals, like many conservatives, will nod along with whatever their party says, having lost the ability to think for themselves. For the record, and regardless of what I think of his politics, Matt Walsh puts Stewart to shame. If this was supposed to be the liberal answer to “What is a Woman?,” it was an epic fail.

I am gobsmacked at Jon's betrayal of logic and reason. I am furious that he has bought into this baby dalai lama theory that a child can choose the right objects and prove their true divine identity. This Invasion of the Misogynist Body Snatchers interview was a let down from top to bottom.

I feel exacly the same, I use to have much respect for this person. I've seen a video where someone replied to John with soe trans definition of woman (Being f*cked is what woman is) and stuff like that. In his video, js quote discusting definission from men dead long time ago, but what we fight against is well alive.

Well, Jon Stewart is ruined for me forever. This interview is the classic example of "punching down." I understand he has a daughter. I hope she makes it to adulthood free of cross sex hormones and/or cosmetic surgery.

I could not watch this on my own, so thank you for this reaction video, it makes me feel less crazy. Just the same,, I will never look at this man with anything but contempt again. He's manipulative, smug, misogynist, and clearly incapable of hearing anyone's opinion if it does not align squarely with his own.

Once TFG and his fascist minions are finally dead or in jail, the TRA movement will, almost certainly, make a Republican out of me, and that is shocking. Truly Shocking. Jon Stewart was the last straw. This interview makes me wonder how many times I sided with my own Liberal biases because I thought Stewart and those like him, made a credible case. How many times have I fallen for this schtick? I really do wonder about that now.

Does Jon Stewart actually think he is funny, or does he actually think he is politically important? He is actually neither. This interview is so obviously his attempt to reclaim some sort of relevance.

"I'm sorry, Jon" -- I agree with Exulansic -- how much did they pay you to do this?

The issue with using "guidelines" is that has a legal use too when it comes to medicine. There are no actual medical guidelines for trans care. Guidelines are based on evidence, which means there can't be official guidelines for this because any evidence that exists is contrary to current practice. Patients would be able to sue if there were actual medical guidelines in place, not vague "standards." He doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about and has read nothing.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever become a Republican. But this is pushing me to the brink. Well, almost. The Alabama Attorney General, Steve Marshall, has joined with 9 other attorneys general, state and federal legislators, and thousands of regular citizens to sign the Women's Bill of Rights. It's about time. Read it at WomensBillOfRights.com.

I used to watch Elmo-palooza with my daughter over and over when she was tiny. Now over a decade later my little girl thinks she's a gay man. If she were HIS daughter, Jon Stewart would swim across rivers to get her "gender affirmative care." He says, "If my kid came to me in agony..." The thing is, Jon, they're not always in agony. Sometimes they just don't want to identify as the straight white patriarchy because they learned they are the evil oppressor. Sometimes they took a bunch of quizzes online to determine that they're trans. Sometimes you as a parent KNOW your kid is not trans but wishes she were, so she could be part of the glittery Pride party and speak from her "lived, marginalized experience." And you look at all your child's friends and see that the majority of them are trans too. Which makes ZERO sense since debilitating gender dysphoria strikes such an infinitesimal portion of the population... And if you have the guts to think on your own, you will swim across those rivers to SAVE her from shrinks and surgeons whose guidelines teach them to fill your confused and deluded daughter with toxic hormones, and amputate her breasts and ruin her life, all because she says, in THIS culture, with its 4000% rise in trans-identifying teens, that she is trans. All this, and you have a fucking laugh track? Fuck you.
