Growing up as kids, our neighbours’s son liked to play with princesses with us. He would wear skirts, tiaras and dance with us. Guess what, he grew up and is a happy gay man. Our parents didn’t care and actually joked about him probably being gay. I thought we were past these boy and girl stereotypes in society….
This is infuriating to watch. Jazz was failed by everyone in his life and now there is no turning back. Jack seems to be the only one who has serious issues accepting that this was the only way forward. It's too late now. There is no un-ringing this bell and I wonder if it's better for Jazz to stay brainwashed or to open his eyes and realize how badly he was failed. Damn them for what they did to him
What I've heard is that they didn't agree with Jazz being transitioned, likely on religious grounds (they are Jewish and don't think this is right according to their religion). So Jeanette and Greg (not their real names btw) moved the family across the country - they both grew up in New York state and apparently that is where his parents still live. These are the rumors I have heard. What is an indisputable fact is that they have never been on the show and AFAIK have hardly ever, or maybe even never been mentioned.
"Jeanette was casually perusing her copy of the DSM4," is one of my favorites among your quotes. Later on, what the older twin brothers say is quite telling. They "wanted the boys to rule the house," meaning Dad and 3 boys, the girls' team is Mom and Ari. Just creepy vibes from Jeanette.
I have been sick with rage and grief for little Jazz many times watching this series, but it reached nuclear levels with that anecdote of Jack's.
Jazz's parents and surgeons and everyone else who had a hand in convincing him to mutilate himself need to be severely punished for this. Jail for the rest of their lives would barely be a start, but at least it would be better than them continuing to peddle this sickness to other vulnerable kids.
This is not a civil rights matter. This is a sick obsession that humans are the equivalent of Mr potato head. Healthcare should be evidence based. This is not. Gender is not a costume.
Well, Dr. Pavlov, you have been successful in conditioning me to expect a whip sound after the word "journey" - obviously, in other videos you haven't produced, there is no sound effect, but it was quite satisfying to hear it here! :D
Something that I think you were alluding to Exulansic was how Jeanette initially sought help because her son was acting gay. Why would that have been something that required help? This plays into your trans is conversion therapy theory.
This series of videos, when watched and re-watched, are a devastating narrative. It's a reality show-become-documentary of transhausen by proxy and a child's destruction, all done with the enthusiastic consent of the two adults in charge. It's evidence every surgeon and everyone involved in these civil lawsuits should have to take in. We now know that a few years later than these scenes, the theatrical move by Harvard to sweep Jazz into their heady world will end badly, with Jeanette intervening, dragging Jazz back home, and Jazz [still trusting his mother] wailing to her that he "never feels like himself." We don't really know what that means but we do know that as a 22-yr-old male, his brain hasn't received the normal hormonal stimulation it needs in order to develop.
Susie Green's child, grown up in the UK, now seems to regret some of what was done to him. Alexander in Norway definitely does. I wonder if they can be helped medically, and if Jazz can be, in some way.
Exulansic, you have such a succinct ways of describing these issues. Woman is not a costume. Just when women were starting to get our rights. Then men stopped that.
Thanks for what you do. It always connects to me, massively, and helps console me to some extent.
When I first started watching Ex's posts, I stopped the video constantly to take notes, because of her incredibly clear take on what was really happening and her precise understanding of the medical science. I gave up note-taking, and really hope all these records are being preserved somewhere safe, because we wouldn't want to lose them. Helen, you have said in your comment what is in my mind, and thank you.
My husband worked on Transparent, he told me they had co-ed bathrooms on set & individual ones off set, they kept on pushing it on that show behind the scenes. Among other things, he saw there.
Jeanette is the one being 'affirmed' by all of this. Her overarching need for adulation and obedience from all, the children's needy pandering to her, her husband's compliance and submissiveness, and finally Jazz's great sacrifice; all these things were laid at the greedy narcissist's feet. Everyone was burned to ash at her altar. Everyone was trying to 'please Mommy the best'. Even her parents. However, those greedy eyes turned to the greater world stage, and when the television crews rolled in, more victims were prepared for their discipleship. This was where Jazz's fate was sealed. The desire was to keep all that good television money coming in; the ante had to be continually upped. More drama, more sacrifice and suffering were required to KEEP THE FAMILY FRANCHISE GOING. In spite of the shame the rest of the family will have to endure for the whole rest of their lives, they actually got off easy. SHAME on them; they collaborated in depriving Jazz of the one thing most fundamental to our human being, the fulfillment of our biological imperative. So, at any cost, keep the ENTERPRISE going. Keep the family franchise going. This story is the story of corruption. This story ends with a sob of futility. Thanks, Exulansic, for doing this hard Work. I have great admiration for you.
First question, why was Jazz at a dance recital? If it was for Ari, why not say that? Ok, Jazz wants to take dance or ballet, they couldn't find a dance class with boys and girls? Maybe Jazz was enamored with Ari and he felt a connection with her. So, he wanted to do what she did, but to grab up your child at the age 2 or 3 frantically search for TQ+ puppet to tell them a fable. How do you diagnose a child as transgender??? "She got the diagnosis", WTF!! It wasn't ok with Jeanette that her last born was "girlie". She did have a problem with Jazz liking girls clothes and toys and idiot Greg, mister tuned out, obviously wasn't much of a role model for Jazz. He probably thought Jazz would just fall in line with the other boys. As everyone keeps saying, it's Jeanette who pushed this onto her own child for insidious reasons. She was afraid to have a gay son and honestly, Jazz may have been bisexual or straight, but we will never know, because is Jazz is stuck in this freak show. He has no way out, but to keep performing in the circus created by his F'ed up mother and checked out dad!

Where are Greg's parents?
Are they exiled as heretics?
Most likely, he looks like he's from middle eastern roots..

Jeanette's family is also Jewish but I'm guessing they're from a liberal or reformed tradition -- or maybe they don't practice at all.
Oh, that would explain why Jeanette's were so passive. Were Greg's parents possibly uncooperative with this ugly process, and thereby exiled?
To the best of my knowledge, this is what's said to have happened.
As a grandparent in that position, even indirect opposition has gotten me alienated.
That woman should be in jail. Disgusting.

Thank you for that rage, Sara. I too feel it, and it is sickening.

This is one of your best reaction videos yet.
Indeed, why *couldn't* he just wear the damn tutu? And why did not a single adult ever intervene to make that precise point?

Does anyone else think that Grandma's earrings look like testicles?
