It's crazy how the evidence of the abusive nature of the treatment is so public and clear, yet ignored by most. The disgust in telling the truth about the complications is fully wrong, yet it's aired with no outrage except for the gender heretics (like here). IMHO, this is a great example of the answer to "How could that happen?" when reading about the history of lobotomies or witch trials. Look at trans stuff to see how things like that happen in the present.

I think the Birkenstocks look nice with the dress. It feels as though Jeanette always has to criticise Jazz just for the sake of it, just to keep him malleable and insecure and doubting his own judgement. She is constantly giving him the impression he can't be trusted with his own decisions. How are we supposed to believe she let him take the lead on his gender identity at 2 when she can't even let him choose his own shoes as an adult?

Jeanette's strategy was to coach him to say he's a girl when he was very young, condition him to fear growing up, gaslight the shit out of him so he fears challenging her or reconsidering his own choices or even MAKING his own choices, and otherwise coercively control him. When he says being trans was not a choice, he's correct. It was imposed by his mother who wanted attention because she is the one who feared her own aging and irrelevance.

It doesn't make any sense. If you went to a doctor and they withheld a possible other explanation for your condition. It would be grounds for a malpractice suit. This is the opposite. A therapist is threatened with the loss of license for offering any other possible explanation for the discomfort of a child or teenager.
