Wow, this is a particularly bad episode in a series that brings nothing but badness. Let's see:
"I just want Noelle to be happy" while Noelle increasingly has an expression like the tragedy side of the drama mask the more they push the idea of the drag show.
How old is Noelle? I assumed Jazz is 16 through this whole episode so why is he friends with (and is doing a fundraiser for) someone who must be over 18? Seems inappropriate (but that's everything on this show). Maybe, as you say, Jazz is older for that part.
This might be catty of me, but I often see videos of TIMs spending a gazillion dollars on "gender affirming" surgeries while having the grossest teeth. I'm glad to see that Noelle has braces!
The binge eating scene was really gratuitous and you're spot -on that they triggered it.
I had the same thought as you about Jazz doing drag...or are they just acknowledging he's still actually a guy?
Dare I say Sander is prettier than Jazz? Even Jack looks better than 90% of the old TIMs I see (professional makeup helps, I guess).
Ironic that Greg says he's never seen a drag show before. He has one in his house every day.
There is no difference between a man dressing up as a woman and calling it drag, and a man dressing up as a woman and calling it trans. They are both offensive to women.
On the few occasions I've gotten to see a drag show, I loved it. However, my consciousness has been raised. This struck me as filthy. This is a child! He has been pimped out from the time he was a very few years old. This family has been shaking their little moneymaker to make it rain, for money and infamy! Can he survive this family? What happened to wholesome activities on your sweet-sixteenth birthday? I could cry.
I think the relationship between Greg and Jeanette is morbidly fascinating. He is so weak and dominated by Jeanette who just exudes pathological personality traits. How the hell did they ever get together? I cannot imagine them being sexually compatible, so how the heck did they have four children. The pre-drag show conversation was excruciating. She is an absolute horror of a human being. However, they are both archetypes of the weak male and evil domineering mother.
There may be more to it. He clearly gets something out of the dynamics. He lets her be the dominant one in public but it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't so passive behind the scenes. Maybe he's incredibly materialistic or status-orientated and decided to support the show for those reasons, for example
Boundaries are just constantly completely ignored in this show. Noelle states a boundary - he doesn't like drag. It is ignored. In taking Jazz along with his family to the drag show, sexual boundaries that should exist between parents, kids and grandparents are ignored. Sexual boundaries for what is appropriate for a 16 year old are ignored. The surreal fucked-upness of the grandparents' bizarre, inappropriate performance. Jazz's boundaries are ignored when he is coerced into a drag performance despite his fragile mental health. The whole show in itself is a violation of Jazz's fundamental right to a private childhood. And it's all done under the pretence of something "beautiful" happening.
Please could you tell me more about how people with autism understand and follow directions in first person better? Would be very helpful for me to implement as an educator.
It’s such a shame that this boy had his boyhood stolen from him by the people who are supposed to love him… for what? Cash and prizes? Fame? How gross. Hope he can find peace in his life.
Having watched and left it to make dinner, I feel you are right..... the Peppermint letdown/binge eating episode was staged.

I lost it at every Mars Attacks! reference!

Yes,a man in a dress will always be a man in a dress.A castrated man in a dress will always be a castrated man in a dress.
Aren't there laws against "contributing to the decadence of minors?"
I misspoke -- "contributing to the delinquency of a minor." Sorry.

Thanx for the Mars Attacks! inserts. It's one of my faves.

I wonder if the drag twin will become an AGP when he's older thanks to exposure to all of this.
Loool to Noelle being borderline based. He's almost reached the point. He just needs to turn that lens back to himself
Yeah Noelle seems weirdly... reasonable?
Disgusting!
