Hey, but she's young, pretty and has beautiful red hair!😯 Unfortunately that is a lot to do with any influence her poorly researched piece will have.

Their goal is to queer society, queer history, spread confusion and separate young people from their parents and older generations. When my then 16-year-old daughter started talking about polyamory in 2016, I knew something was going on. I really believe this is the attempted destruction of religion and traditional society and family.

I only partially agree. In the UK we have been very atheist for a long time, and we are only more religious now due to a large influx of people with other religious beliefs. Some religious people are PRO some of the ideology because they want to 'trans away the gay'.

Interesting concept. I know there are languages that are not descended from Proto-Indo European--do any of them have a word that means woman?

I like the Werewolf mention. Universal Studio/Lon Cheney, 1941. Also see recent Icelandic film "Lamb." Shapeshifters these days have no one to blame but themselves, unless you count over-exposure to the internet as being bitten...

"Folk Etymology Implosion" is a punk band name.

The male Australopithecus knew what a female was without words to express "gender." Humans invented words to describe things they could see. These kids are Judith Butler creationists.

There is a joke here regarding boats being refered to as "she" and full of seamen

Expand full comment
Exulansic's avatar

That's one theory - boats, cars and other vessels end up in feminine gender by analogy with pregnancy because they're vessels. But even though she's a beauty can refer to cars in English in Spanish car words are generally masculine.

An Icelandic lesson for your enjoyment...: Bátur M hann : boat | Skip N það: ship | Skúta F hún: schooner | Ferja F hún: ferry

Fishermen always speak lovingly of their sea vessels as "she".

Women who lived through/survived/escaped these regimes are sounding the alarm.

I used to think that, because the freaking planet is collapsing into an uninhabitable Hellscape, I would “vote blue no matter who” and hope women could wrestle back our rights along the way. But Biden is a failure on every level, including environmentally. I’m politically homeless and at a loss for what to do. We need a revolution and we need women leaders. Thanks as always for being a voice of reason and for your sense of humor, Ex.

I love these etymology videos. It's sooo a noying how they will saysex and gender are separate and that gender is a social construct, and accuse is of conflating the two, only to have then use gender as synonym for sex or just flat out conflate the two. Proof they just don't understand themselves perhaps.

Thank you for the timely and thoroughly edifying content in this video.

I've been thinking about how 'gender' has become a bewilderingly overloaded word.

The de-sexing of 'woman' and 'man' in present-day social discourse to mean gender as an identity, seemingly functions to dissociate 'woman' and 'man'—if I've understood this correctly—from their non-arbitrary meaning for adult human sex: adult human female and adult human male, respectively.

And I think the misuse of woman-specific words by well-meaning people (e.g., referring to a man as 'she') guides how others in society interpret reality, and not the facts themselves.

This woman has obviously never studied the derivation and development of English from Anglo Saxon, Greek, Norse, Latin, French etc.... wait till she discovers German neuter proving non-binary gender has always existed!
