My eldest sister (R.I.P.) was a second wave feminist, and she accepted the biological explanation of her *lesbianism.* She was also a practicing Roman Catholic, and I’m pretty sure that the biological explanation worked for her. Something a person “can’t help” is easier for many to accept than a political choice, in my experience. I turned fifty last year, and I am now confident that I will never find friendship love (philia?) with men. I’m tired of even attempting it, and will gladly live separately from them when that becomes possible for me. It’s the personhood thing. Men just seem to know that personhood status requires a penis. I’m saddened that it took me so long to figure that one out, but the odds are against it, I suppose. I do think that more than Nature is involved with who we daydream about! ☮️❤️🐾
