She isn’t old enough to rent a car because the insurance industry knows human brains don’t reach emotional maturity until age 25 (at the earliest) and car accident statistics must reflect that which is why you can’t rent a car in most places until you’re 25.
“They seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.” We do. Pseudo-utilitarianism reasoning behind experimental permanent medical intervention is not it. Those 4 kids matter just as much as you do.
Any adults who believe these kids will commit suicide should ask themselves how many kids they knew growing up who committed suicide. I don't remember any at all. But, according to this ideology, since there wasn't even any concept of social transition, let alone medical, kids should have been offing themselves all over the place.
Distressed teens definitely do kill themselves, and it was shown a few decades ago that gay/lesbian teens were committing suicide at higher rates than their straight peers. That's where the "it gets better" campaign came from (as well as various Safe Schools initiatives) - so this seems to be an outgrowth of that, but now it's being dangled in front of parents/caretakers as a threat. What should be happening is that at the very first time a kid mentions the possibility of suicide, you take them to THERAPY, not dose them with hormones. But of course, the same people dangling the threat would probably consider that kind of therapy to be of the conversion variety because it might cause them to get to the true root of their issues, which are probably not related to gender.
Also, isn't true that most people who are truly suicidal try to NOT telegraph it or say it out loud, where generally folks who threaten it have no actual suicidal feelings and are just doing it to manipulate?
Oh, a note about "it gets better" - the difference with that was a message of hope that you can hold out until adulthood to live the way you want to. The opposite is happening now - the idea of waiting til maturity off the table, and everything has to be "fixed" right now.
Lastly, what about the kids who kill themselves b/c of the transition itself? I remember a 60 Minutes piece years ago about a trans kid who appeared to have it all - full support of family, friends, and school - they were even crowned homecoming or prom king or something - and they still killed themselves. I was waiting for the reporter to talk about why someone with what appears to be the perfect trans life would still do it, but they never addressed it. Seems like a game of Russian Roulette.
Wow! When I was twelve, the lovely “child experts” with their advanced university degrees were busy committing felonies against me, denying me education (though I qualified for the Gifted and Talented Education program), and grooming me for sexual abuse. That was in the mid-Eighties, and I don’t see that anything’s really changed. Maybe if those “child experts” had been imprisoned for their crimes during the Satanic Panic we wouldn’t have this horror being currently expressed? See, when “child experts” police themselves on an honor system, we get child abuse. The problem with them is culturally systemic (misogyny, homophobia, racism), and our culture worships “experts” with advanced university degrees. Queer Theory came out of those institutions as well. I’m definitely not sad now about having missed the experience of advanced educational institutions! Do care to achieve a measure of justice in civil court, though. Yay! ☮️❤️🐾
Well please remember I have expertise in aspects of child development and I also came out of not just any university, but Judith Butler's employer. I believe the good ones can't be corrupted and the bad ones can't be corrected and the mushy middle need to be challenged and pick a lane.
I do hope you’re correct about the picking a lane. I’m not enamored of child expertise generally, but I’m confident that you follow the maxim, “First, no harm” better than the M.D.’s do! I don’t think I would’ve made it through university with Judith’s Butlers all around me. One of my favorite heterodox physicians was nearly barred from graduation because he was “too happy” or in other words, he didn’t have the demeanor befitting a medical doctor, in his dean’s opinion. I think the troubles are deeper than a mushy middle, as the “bad” ones (personality disordered) seem to have become dominant in many industries. Sticking up for truthful speech and basic biological reality is surely a requirement for that mushy middle to be enabled to stand firmly in physical reality. Thanks for relentless pointing it out on the gender cult front! ☮️❤️🐾
That would be my inference if someone tried to say I was too happy to X. That they were just being homophobic and thought i was too stupid to notice that they were just using a synonym for gay.
He’s a heterosexual man of European descent. The administrators of those institutions cultivate a cold, impassive demeanor generally, and his caring, clowning personality was a problem for his dean. I can understand your inference as well, I’m just saying that a minority of males with his socioeconomic background do ultimately clash with the attitude prevalent in the medical institutions. Gotta cultivate a stoic exterior to be taken seriously, I guess. I’d admire their craft a lot more if there were more science in it, and less psychological manipulation of all kinds!
i understand that the aim of the puberty blockers at 15, and the testosterone at 16, was to achieve a cosmetic effect. what i don’t understand is… WHAT cosmetic effect?? she does not look male, and i will admit some FTMs look male. the ones that pass the best are the ones whose natural puberty gifted them a strong bone structure to their faces. i know it’s a small thing amid the human rights violations, but all the chemically stunted females i’ve seen end up looking like large children (see also: Gruffin). they’re not even achieving the cosmetic effect they’ve sacrificed so much for! i am ready for the lies to stop.
Wonder how she'll feel in another few years ? I've seen YouTube videos of people who had sex change surgery 40 years ago and are now miserable. One man went back to living as a man but will have to take Testosterone for the rest of his life and has no penis. He's far from the only one. So many sad stories ,it makes you were.😭😭😭.Thanks , Exulansic 👏👍❤️
Why do we think it’s 4% of children who are false positives? I thought the vast majority of gender questioning kids desisted by adulthood if left alone with no medical intervention. Maybe the number goes down if we mess with their hormones and development early and they are already different, so harder to turn back.
So.... that 5 billion dollar price tag being bandied about... does that factor in the cancer/dementia/osteoporosis/you-get-my-point treatments for the iatrogenic problems arising out of all of this affirmation? YIKES!!

"I've been in the cult for half my young life, this proves it is not a cult"
She is very angry at her parents. She is still angry. It's teenage anger, not 24-year-old adult anger.

"try drugs, see if you like it"
ever read that reddit post about the guy who tried heroin once just to see what would happen and then became a full blow addict?
You don't need to try a drug to know that it will have harmful effects, you can see what already happened.
Objective reality is so fucking important!!

Is this physician gay or gay-passing? Because it sounds like the dean might've been homophobic since gay = happy.
No. Hope you’re joking!

Only in the back room conversations I would imagine
