I'm still working on my larger write up of my experiences at #GenspectDenver, but I wanted to chime in on the controversy involving reactions to the fact that one of the attendees, autogynephilic on Twitter/X aka Phil Illy, was wearing female typical clothing while promoting a book purportedly about autogynephilia, but which is very much also about transracial animorphs in wheelchairs. This is part 1, forming my INITIAL reaction, which I was subsequently heckled and pilloried for over a period of several days. I lost a few subscribers in the process and several people said some surprisingly sweeping condemnations. However, my project seeks to document, ethnographically, a movement and cultural phenomenon, from all angles, including the one I am gazing from. Therefore, I will open with my initial thoughts. Since I began to write this, more information has come out about this individual, which I wild over in Part 2. So, please, I ask you: hold your pitchforks for just a moment.
