Testosterone and the Larynx: Your Canary in a Coalmine
For a loved one whose Marfan syndrome taught me so much, who was also taken too soon.
Here is a cross section of the lamina propria which is the multilayered connective tissue surrounding the actual vocal muscle, the thyrovocalis. These layers can separate from drug-use and hyperfunction, as Miley Cyrus found out (Reinke's edema). Testosterone enlarges the thyrovocalis, which puts pressure on the overlying connective tissue layers from the inside. Depending on the extent and rapidity of this enlargement, it is predictable stretch marks on the lamina propria would result. Testosterone also affects connective tissue elasticity. In addition to the horrific exclusion of cancer from the list of testosterone-related risks on the Planned Parenthood etc. paperwork for transmasc testosterone therapy, I've yet to see paperwork that informs of the risk of connective tissue damage in the voice. Just "deepening” as if by magic. The rapidity of the growth of the thyrovocalis will depend on many factors, including, doctor liability-wise, the dose and also method of administration (weekly injectable bolus may be different than daily testogel in terms of rate of vocal engorgement). Patients do not appear to be informed of this possibility when sold these scheduled, controlled substances as consumer products by licensed medical personnel.
A major problem that I notice is that the lamina propria is a structure that is present elsewhere in the body, including the lining of the gut. However, you cannot hear that change as easily as in the voice. It may still have effects and produce GI symptoms, however. These GI symptoms may be misattributed, due to the lack of informed consent during the sales pitch. I would imagine that alterations to the lamina propria of the gastrointestinal tract may, for instance, result in dysmotility/pain and perhaps even malabsorption. The resulting malnutrition may lead to neuropsychiatric consequences which would then be attributed to "gender dysphoria."
Your voice very often is a canary in the coalmine that can indicate problems with other organ systems, including the urogenital tract, which also are lined with a layer of connective tissue called the lamina propria. Due to its relative weakness and chronic shear stress, this layer is rich in immune cells* and serves as a line of defense, especially in the gut. Male genetics and skeletal proportions account for the differential presence of testosterone, mitigating some of the effects via sexually dimorphic responses to testosterone, but clearly, men still die a lot sooner than women.
The bladder also contains a lamina propria and with it, androgen receptors. Men have significantly more bladder cancers (3-4x the rate of women) and a lot of research has looked at hormones. " a role of androgen blockade therapy in improving survival..." Causation has been demonstrated in transgenic mice: “Taken together, our data demonstrate for the first time that conditional activation of transgenic AR expression in bladder urothelium enhances carciongen-induced bladder tumor formation in mice.”
Blood vessels - arteries and veins - also have their own lamina propria. This layer hardens and calcifies with age, resulting in atherosclerosis and reduced capacity to dynamically adjust to changing orthodynamic conditions, resulting in blood pressure changes that can induce strokes and heart attacks or other issues such as necrosis. There’s a reason diabetics lose their feet.
Yet Planned Parenthood is casually exposing children to diabetes risk on the theory they’re a bigger threat to themselves than drug-induced diabetes and atherosclerosis. There is very much a reason that men and women have distinct patterns of heart attack symptoms, and connective tissue structure is one of them, testosterone exposure is another. There are reasons men die sooner than women, and these are among them.
We know from the pancreas - and even Planned Parenthood acknowledges this - that sexual dimorphism in response to hormones is a real entity, therefore the same weight-adjusted dose of testosterone will impair female pancreatic function while enhancing male pancreatic functioning. To sum up, we have absolutely no right to be experimenting on children like this. We are withholding informed consent of these very predictable system wide complications and coercing them to participate in the experiment by overstating the known benefits and telling them their normal teenage angst means suicide is a coin flip, unless they take this experimental cosmetic carcinogen to placate their mood symptoms and adjust their behavior. Unethical researchers just have questions they cannot ethically answer without this elaborate culture-wide con. We are all going to learn a lot from these experiments, which unethical researchers will claim justified the harm. I disagree.
Note, the second image was initially mislabeled as arterial when it is in fact gastrointestinal.

No doubt there are effects on the digestive tract. Every time some "trans woman" claims to have period cramps and PMS, they are rationalizing GI issues as evidence the magic works.
I hope you get to be the expert witness in many many cases because you are great at presenting the facts of this
