Literature Review: '"Bird Wing" Abdominal Phalloplasty' Performed on 17 Year Old 46XY CAIS Patient
Case Study with Discussion
In this study, author Minu Bajpai discusses four case studies of minors who underwent phalloplasty due to disorders of sexual development, elsewhere termed DSDs and also “intersex disorders,” resulting in what is being considered to be a medically inadequate phallus. Some consider “intersex” to be a slur whereas others view it as a neutral descriptor. It can of course be misleading and suggest it is possible for a human to be in some way neither sex.
The article is from the Journal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and is titled “Bird-Wing abdominal phalloplasty: A novel surgical technique for penile reconstruction.”
