Lee Francis, the free speech defending “totally normal person,” has perhaps made good on his threat to have my channel shut down in the name of improving the marketing image of transness by erasing everyone’s access to a written record of our dissent (comments he disagreed with). This was his stated intention and justification, and here we are. Isle of Ex has been removed from youtube, once again erasing an unimaginable number of hours of dedicated work on my part and on the part of commenters contributing their stories and insights in the comments. Once again, people looking for information about these surgeries may come up empty handed, not knowing their media is being censored.
Was it all worth it? Well, in the 6 months the channel was up, it was viewed over one million times. Youtube may be able to remove content, but they cannot yet remove memories. Not until Elon gets his way with neuralink. Some of those viewers were people already familiar with my criticisms of transmedicalism, and others were fresh eyes seeing dissent for the first time. Some of those people left comments that they had been newly persuaded. It was a significant investment of my time, and to me, a worthy one, though they’ve kicked the sandcastle over anew.
Some fraction of those people will be like me. They will be inspired to create their own channels and make their own content. Still more will persuade a few people around them privately in the future. Some will never speak of it to another but will quietly withdraw from gender affirming care and be better for it. Still others may go forward getting specific trans medical interventions, being more informed than they were before, despite still choosing to undergo these procedures. While it is a shame that Youtube and the faceless mob have burnt my library down again, I am happy I did this work. Isle of Ex proved we can and should continue to rebuild.
One way you may want to consider supporting Project Exulansic now is by reacting to some amount of my content in a minimal, critical, educational, etc., fashion, on channels mostly related to other things. Then linking back here or to Exulansic.com. I will not copyright-claim ‘reaction’ videos to my content for copyright because reaction videos are fair use exceptions to copyright in the United States, where Youtube is based. I would imagine that reaction videos would not be considered terms of service violations, and if youtube were to consider them, one video on a channel mostly dedicated to other topics would be more likely to receive a warning or a strike - especially if the reaction is that you find it thought-provoking and you want to hear people’s thoughts. Or even critical: “This is just transphobiaaaux” end of reaction. This would increase exposure to the fact that this encyclopedia surgica exists, still utilizing the algorithm to get it to the people who need to see it. I’ve been hosted on other channels and to my knowledge none of those channels have been banned or had the video with me struck.
Other ways to support include a paid subscription or channel membership here or at Odysee (Exulansic.com), or one-time tipping options and merch. A list of options is at linktr.ee/exulansic. As always, thank you for your continued support and encouragement. You’ve all made this work possible in a million little ways. Sometimes the boulder rolls back down the hill, and that’s okay. What matters is that it rolled past the small animal, this time, due to our efforts at shifting its course, not that it didn’t stay up eternally.
You are fighting the good fight Exulansic! I am proud to be a new supporter here on substack and I will endeavor to get the word out on other channels too! Thank you for being bold and strong! We need you!
Google is a disgrace... brake the monopoly!
Thank you for everything you do Ex
