Here’s how to get ahold of my content to make your own original educational, news, reaction, commentary video response to it. This will transform the content into a fair-use reaction video, which makes it now your original content rather than my content. Then you can set your lighted little paper boat of truth onto the foamy eddies of the youtube algorithm, hoping it is seen by even one person before it is taken down. Isle of Ex stayed up for 6 months and was viewed over 1,000,000 times. The sky is the limit.
Step one: get ahold of my content. This can be done in 3 ways.
METHOD ONE: Screen Record
There are a variety of screen recording apps available for free and for pay which are web based or app based. I personally have used WeVideo, which has a free version, as well as Movavi. On my phone, I’ve used the free app InShot. When screen recording, if it’s an option, use “internal audio” as the source rather than the mic, otherwise you will get an echo and poorer audio quality.
Once you have screen recorded, you can splice in any reaction video you record with a phone or webcam, and then finish the video, resulting in a new transformed original content video that can then be uploaded to Youtube.
METHOD TWO: Download the video and splice in your reaction
This would just be going to Odysee. I’m not sure there’s a way to do it via substack yet. Open a video you have access to (which may mean scrolling past members only/purchase) and click the three dots and there should be a drop-down menu with an option to download the video. Once downloaded, load it into a video editor such as Wevideo, add your reaction (could be positive, negative, or neutral i.e. “thought provoking! I’m not sure if I agree. What do you guys think?”), and then finish the video.
METHOD 3: ASK ME!
I will happily send you a link of the episode you want to a digital dropbox where you can download it directly. Requests can be sent to ttx2215 at g mail dot com.
MONETIZATION: GO FOR IT!
If you have a monetized channel, you are definitely allowed to monetize reaction videos containing the original content of other people. This is NOT copyright infringement as the result is now your copyrighted original content. I will not be annoyed if you monetize a reaction video to my content, even if the reaction is minimal. I would very much appreciate if you used some of the receipts of this monetization to support me with a channel membership or paid subscription here, but it’s not required, and I will have no legal recourse against a legitimate reaction video and so I would not attempt to copyright strike.
The purpose of this project is to expand the reach of my message in the context of censorship and discrimination against me as a creator and against those who hold gender critical/pro-reality views in general, especially those of us of the female persuasion, who seem to have much less leeway when it comes to what we say and how we say it. If the censors do not believe I am controlling or possessing the channel, it is less likely that one reuploaded video of mine would lead to a ban versus a warning or a strike. My content is proven to be popular so if you do monetize a simple reaction to one of my videos, it is likely to bring in some income for you, even if you also (please do!) support me with a paid membership/subscription/tip.
Love this idea Exulansic! Brilliant!
Hi Exulansic - I would like to set up a reaction channel - I'd be grateful for advice on promoting the content.
